Josie swimming lessons Pt.2
Here is the second video of one of Josie's first swimming lessons. She really likes the "rocketship". The couple of times we've been back to the pool to practice, she gets a kick out of bouncing in the water and flying into the air. Yes, and I did say practice...Jenn wants to make sure Josie gets her practice in since the thunderstorms like to postpone our lessons at the YMCA.

Josie's swimming lessons Pt1
Josie had her first swimming lesson a couple of weeks ago. Actually, she had it the previous Tuesday, but for some reason we had it written down that they started at 6:30pm. They started at 6:00pm. We got there 10mins early, waited for the current class to finish, got in the pool, then realized our class was the one that had just got out of the pool. Oh well. Any ways, her first class was worth the wait. Josie is such a brave little girl. As you can see in the following two videos, she had no fear. Without much urging, she was jumping off the side of the pool, splashing around, as well as flirting with the lifeguard.
We've had lessons Tues/Thurs for the past couple of weeks, and they go through the beginning of September. We've been averaging one per week, because it likes to storm at least once per week around the 6:00pm class time.
I'm so proud of my little girl.

I love pickles!
I love pickles.
So we stopped at Panera for lunch on Saturday. Josie is at the stage where she eyes our food and Jenn had a pickle on her plate. Josie had tried a small bread&butter pickle before and seemed to like it. So, we gave her the dill spear and she went to town. She gobbled, smacked, slurped, chewed, till there was only a small piece of skin left which she could quite gum. It was a hilarious site. Pickles, check. Lemons, check. What's next on the food ladder?

Standing up
Josie learned to stand up just a few weeks ago...now she can dance and explore. She is a speed demon who wants to get into the cat food. This little video shows Jo playing with her "stand-up" car/steering wheel, and having fun with her exersaucer. She even decides to let go and balance for just a few seconds. She's growing so fast...
I want to feed myself
As Josie grows, she is discovering her personality and will. Lately this tends to come out during dinner time. A few weeks ago, she was being fussy and adamant that she wanted to feed herself. So I gave in, dumped the sweet potatoes out on the tray and let her have at it. As you will see, she needed a bath by the end of dinner.
Earl loves tennis
I've been meaning to post this for awhile... Jenn's father has a very nice 50" widescreen tv. Well, Earl the cat discovered Wimbledon. One morning I had tennis on and wasn't really paying too much attention when I noticed Earl standing right in front of the tv with his head following the tennis ball back and forth. He continued to watch for close to 30mins the firs time. This video is of the Wimbledon semi-final where Earl watched intently for another good 20mins. He especially liked the graphics that NBC used to show whether a ball was in or out. Earl does very well at enterntaining himself for sure.
